Meet New and Interesting People!

From our President!

Hello EVAA Members.

May 20th 2024

This season has certainly flown by, and looking back I am amazed of everything we have accomplished. The first 3 months starting in September, were hectic with lots of activities. This was the first time we had done “Double Vision” with the collaboration between the photographers and the artists who created their own vision of a selected photo. We had 28 pairings for the show including a fused glass artist and a fiber artist which was really exciting. It was an amazing show with over 700 people attending. “Walkin on Main” occurred at the same time in the same building. The old Cottonwood Community Clubhouse will continue to be the venue for EVAA & NAWS “Walkin on Main” next November. The “Double Vision” will probably have a different date and hopefully last several days. The Fall Festival Art show at the Fairground was 2 weeks before the “Walkin on Main-Double Vision” show. No wonder we were ready for a break afterwards. The wonderful and varied workshops filled the rest of the year with activities.

Our presence at the Cottonwood Library has greatly expanded. We now have 4 walls to hang art – a 1-month wall, a 4-month wall with scenes from Verde Valley x Sedona, and now 2 “Artist of The Month” walls with each winning artist having a 2-month mini-show overlapping by 1 month. The latest addition is the glass case for 3D artwork.

We ended our season with the Verde Valley Fair and art show where our members took many of the art prizes. Thank you for all the volunteering you have done throughout the year. El Valle Artist Association is what you as members make it. To continue our exciting future requires that we all pitch in and help. Let us see what exciting activities we can come up with next season. Anna Blanchard will be sending out the updated membership form in late July. Please select the area you are willing to help out with. Have a wonderful summer. I will see you in September.
Sincerely: Jette Monahan President
