Walkin’ on Main

We are filled and a wait list is started! 

Setup for Walkin’ on Main is Friday from 12pm to 4pm. 

Walkin’ on Main is Saturday from 11am to 5pm. We’ll open for artists about 10am so you can finish anything is your space.

Walkin’ on Main end at 5pm so spaces need to be cleared by 6pm.

We need people to give breaks during the day.

Double Vision Unbounded

We are recruiting volunteers to help us with the show, especially this year

with the extended days for the exhibition.  We will have sign-up sheets at the meetings prior to the event.  We need people for the following tasks:

  • 1. Room set-up (2-3 people, Thursday 11/6 morning TBD)

  • 2. Take-in (4 people, Friday 11/7 from 10am-2pm) 

  • 3. Reset show in the room (3-4 people, Sunday 11/9, afternoon TBD)

  • 4. Sitting the show (minimum of 2 people per day in 2.5-3-hour shifts,

preferred 2 pairs of people per shift per day x 6 days)

  • Monday 11/10   12-3pm & 3-6pm

  • Tuesday 11/11 12-3pm & 3-6pm

  • Wednesday 11/ 12 12-3pm, 3-5:30pm

  • Thursday 11/13 12-3pm, 3-5:30pm

  • Friday 11/14      12-3pm, 3-5:30pm

  • Saturday 11/15 11am-1pm, 1-3pm

1. Check out (2-4 people, Saturday 11/15 after closing reception TBD)

LET”S DO IT !

Do you have a technique to share or something you would like to learn about? Need a kick start? Want to get to know other members better?

Maybe Let’s Play!! days are for you. Design your own pod (group) of 2-4 members. Post your own Let’s Play offerings at the monthly meetings and sign-up for other posted opportunities, too. These opportunities are free to members with the possible exception of a supply fee.

Show your pod’s results at meetings or enter Artist of the Month and local shows individually.

A few ideas to incorporate into our work, such as, Gelli print uses, paste paper, cyan-print, photography, lettering, urban sketching, carving stamps or wood, 3-D, bookmaking, beading, silver smithing, art museum visit, Plein Air painting, urban sketching, etc.

In the Clubhouse after Walkin’ on Main, There will be 4 events for Double Vision

1. Tuesday, November 11 - A Music Night with Gary and Friends.

2. Wednesday, November 12 - Roger Naylor will talk about the Kolb Brothers of the Grand Canyon

3. Thursday, November 13 - Margaret Hangan will give a talk about the Historic Arizona Sheep Industry.

4. Friday, November, 14 - Efren Lopez will give a talk about his time traveling spent Route 66, titled Memories of the Mother Road (Route 66)
